The Living Flow: The Way of Water

Join Clyde and Niki Butcher for the opening reception of The Living Flow: The Way of Water, a new exhibition exploring Florida’s historic water system and the importance of clean water through Clyde Butcher’s iconic black-and-white photography.
This exhibition follows the natural flow of water from the Kissimmee River into Lake Okeechobee, south through the Everglades, and on to Florida Bay. Through powerful photographs, interpretive maps, and charts, visitors can see how clean, naturally flowing water connects landscapes, wildlife habitats, and ecosystems—and why protecting this flow is essential to Florida’s future.
During the reception, guests are invited to meet Clyde and Niki, enjoy book signings, and hear stories from a lifetime of photography and environmental advocacy.
The Friends of Big Cypress National Preserve will host an information booth highlighting why this ecosystem is so fragile and why clean, naturally flowing water matters.
FREE guided dry-land tours of the 13-acre private property behind the gallery will be offered every hour.
